Duas from the Quran and the Sunnah
Dua for deceased parents
If your mother or father has passed away, these are short duas for them from the Quran and from the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace be upon him. Each one comes with its source.
Mercy for your parents
رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
Rabbir-hamhuma kama rabbayani saghira.
My Lord, have mercy on them, as they raised me when I was small.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said that when a person dies, his deeds stop except for three things, and one of them is a righteous child who makes dua for him (Sahih Muslim 1631).

The dua of Prophet Ibrahim
رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ
Rabbanaghfir li wa li-walidayya wa lil-mu'minina yawma yaqumul-hisab.
Our Lord, forgive me, my parents and the believers on the Day the reckoning takes place.

The dua of Prophet Nuh
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِمَنْ دَخَلَ بَيْتِيَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ
Rabbighfir li wa li-walidayya wa liman dakhala baytiya mu'minan wa lil-mu'minina wal-mu'minat.
My Lord, forgive me and my parents, and whoever enters my house as a believer, and all the believing men and women.

From the funeral prayer
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ، وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ، وَأَكْرِمْ نُزُلَهُ، وَوَسِّعْ مُدْخَلَهُ
Allahummaghfir lahu warhamhu, wa 'afihi wa'fu 'anhu, wa akrim nuzulahu, wa wassi' mudkhalahu.
O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, keep him safe and pardon him, honour his arrival and make his resting place wide.
Awf ibn Malik heard the Prophet, peace be upon him, say this in a funeral prayer. For a mother: Allahummaghfir laha warhamha, wa 'afiha wa'fu 'anha, wa akrim nuzulaha, wa wassi' mudkhalaha.
