Duas from the Quran and the Sunnah
Dua for financial problems
When money is tight or debt feels heavy, these are short duas from the Quran and from the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace be upon him. Each one comes with its source.
Enough with what is halal
اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ
Allahummak-fini bi-halalika 'an haramik, wa aghnini bi-fadlika 'amman siwak.
O Allah, make what is lawful enough for me so I have no need of what is unlawful, and by Your grace make me free of need for anyone but You.
Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, taught it to a man weighed down by what he owed, and said the Prophet, peace be upon him, had taught it to him.

Against worry and the weight of debt
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ، وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazan, wal-'ajzi wal-kasal, wal-jubni wal-bukhl, wa dala'id-dayni wa ghalabatir-rijal.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, from helplessness and laziness, from cowardice and stinginess, from the burden of debt and from being overpowered by people.
Anas reported that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said this often.

For good, lawful provision
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا
Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'a, wa rizqan tayyiba, wa 'amalan mutaqabbala.
O Allah, I ask You for useful knowledge, good and lawful provision, and deeds that are accepted.
Umm Salamah reported that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said this after the Fajr prayer.

The dua of Prophet Musa in need
رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ
Rabbi inni lima anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqir.
My Lord, I am in need of whatever good You send down to me.
Musa, peace be upon him, said this when he was alone, far from home and in need.
