Duas from the Quran and the Sunnah
Dua for a sick parent
If your mother or father is ill, these are short duas from the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and from the Quran. Each one comes with its source.
For healing
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، أَذْهِبِ الْبَاسَ، اشْفِهِ وَأَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
Allahumma Rabban-nas, adhhibil-ba's, ishfihi wa antash-Shafi, la shifa'a illa shifa'uk, shifa'an la yughadiru saqama.
O Allah, Lord of mankind, take away the harm. Heal him, for You are the Healer. There is no healing but Your healing, a healing that leaves no illness behind.
Aisha reported that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said this when he visited a sick member of his family. For a mother: ishfiha instead of ishfihi.

When you visit them
أَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ الْعَظِيمَ رَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ أَنْ يَشْفِيَكَ
As'alullahal-'Azim, Rabbal-'Arshil-'Azim, an yashfiyak.
I ask Allah the Mighty, Lord of the Mighty Throne, to heal you.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, taught saying this seven times by the side of a sick person.

Mercy for your parents
رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
Rabbir-hamhuma kama rabbayani saghira.
My Lord, have mercy on them, as they raised me when I was small.
Allah tells us in the Quran to say this for our parents.
